I’ve had to take the past week off of 5k training due to tendonitis in my left knee. What a bummer it’s been!
After reading up on tendonitis, treatments, and preventions, I now have a great regimen in place. I started my training again today and am running with a patella strap (which is a Godsend). I feel great and think the tendonitis flare up is minimal at this point (yay!) – so excited to be back in training mode.
Over the past week, I have been able to tell a huge difference in the way I feel – I’m more tired during the day and in a worse mood when I’m not exercising. It also makes me feel sort of guilty, though I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s because I know I’m not giving 100% to a task or maybe it’s because I’m not doing anything for my health by sitting at home constantly. Probably both. Either way, I’m glad I feel the need to exercise – it’s the lifestyle change I’ve been wanting for years!
I’ve signed up for my first 5k! It’s approximately a month and a half away and I think it’ll be so much fun! It’s a color run with flavored powder (a “flavor run”) and a few of my friends are running it too! Can’t wait for the big day. 😊
